CAC Presents Foundation with Inaugural Bauder Community Impact Award

The Community Foundation was honored to accept the inaugural Bauder Community Impact Award at the Community Action Council of Howard County’s (CAC) annual Evening of Impact event held on October 20.

The Bauder Community Impact Award is named for longtime CAC Board Member and supporter, Dr. Lillian Bauder. The Bauder Community Impact Award is presented to individuals and organizations dedicated to uplifting Howard County residents through innovative solutions, collaboration, community advocacy, and a commitment to long-term impact and positive outcomes.

For more than 60 years, CAC has served as the county’s designated nonprofit anti-poverty organization. As part of a nationwide network of Community Action Agencies, CAC helps hard-working individuals and families overcome economic challenges and achieve lasting self-sufficiency.

The Foundation was selected for its long-standing partnership with the Community Action Council. “By connecting donors with community need, CFHoCo has helped dozens of nonprofits deliver critical services to thousands of Howard County residents,” said CAC President & CEO, Tracy Broccolino. “The Community Foundation has been a valued partner to CAC since 2013, helping support our education and food assistance initiatives.”

Former President & CEO, Beverly White-Seals, was on hand to accept the award on behalf of the Foundation, along with Foundation staff and members of the Board of Trustees. Attending from the staff were Dan Flynn, Juliet Gomez and Jay Vidyarthi. Regina Clay and Mark Stinson represented the Board of Trustees.

Making the award even more special was the meaningful relationship between the award’s namesake, Dr. Lillian Bauder, and the Foundation. Dr. Bauder, named the Foundation’s 2022 Philanthropist of the Year, has been a philanthropic leader and a driving force for good across our community.
