The Maryland Women’s Heritage Center is the newest of many non-profit agency funds at the Community Foundation of Howard County. The newly created Maryland Women’s Heritage Center Legacy Fund is pooled and invested along with hundreds of other CFHoCo funds to provide a permanent, reliable source of income to support the long-term sustainability and ongoing efforts of the organization.
The Maryland Women’s Heritage Center recognizes, documents and celebrates the contributions of Maryland women, past and present, to our social, political and economic order. By doing so, the MWHC champions opportunities and equality for women and girls. They do this with a combination of exhibits, events and online features that pay tribute to Maryland women’s contributions in education, politics, science, community activism, the arts, the military, business and other areas.
The organization stresses inclusivity and proactively seeks untold stories. The members of MWHC strive to be role models to our population of young women by embracing and supporting their world experiences.
In celebration of establishing the new Maryland Women’s Heritage Center Legacy Fund at the Foundation, the MWHC is hosting a kickoff event on Saturday, October 14 at the Community Foundation’s home at The Apple Ford Center at Athol Manor.
A gift to the MWHC Fund helps guarantee we can keep adding her story to history to tell our story. There are many ways to give, either today or to leave a lasting legacy with a planned gift.
