OUR MISSION
Educating and engaging the community to inspire life-long giving for the advancement of Howard County residents and nonprofits supporting civic, cultural, environment and education.
Jim Rouse was a visionary who had a simple dream of creating a better place for people to live and work.
In 1969, Rouse created the Columbia Foundation in anticipation of the needs of new town Columbia for decades to come. In 2013, in order to reflect the geographic area served, the foundation changed its name to the Community Foundation of Howard County but kept Rouse’s vision intact.
The Community Foundation of Howard County (CFHoCo) has and continues to connect stakeholders around issues, inspires life-long giving, grant making, identifying community needs, managing investments, and educating donors about community issues. CFHoCo makes a positive impact on the community and supports nonprofit organizations that address important causes in Howard County.
