Howard County Autism Housing Initiative Fund

In Howard County and across the United States, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other disabilities face an expanding crisis. The supply of affordable, accessible housing, never sufficient to demand, is becoming dramatically more scarce as a rapidly expanding population of young adults with ASD and other disabilities transition into adulthood. In Howard County alone, approximately 600 students with learning disabilities, autism, developmental delay, or intellectual disabilities will transition out of high school in the next five years.

We’re helping meet this demand with an innovative solution: an inclusive, mixed income community for adults with disabilities, families and older adults in which neighbors lend one another social support.  Please donate to help support planning of this initiative.

Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County

The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County (“WGC”) is an unincorporated group of women who believe that women’s philanthropy shapes the future for women and girls through the power of collective giving.  The WGC mission is to build a community of philanthropists and create a permanent legacy to address the needs of women and girls in Howard County.

In support of the mission and vision, the WGC established a fund with the CFHoCo and actively solicits donations from local women who support its philanthropic mission.  The donations are distributed to nonprofits addressing the needs of women and girls in Howard County.
